EVOLVERS, 2019

The images from the series called “Jackrabbit, Cottontail & Spirits of the Desert” and are manifestations of oral tradition, bringing visibility to the individuals, cultures, and history that continue to inform this landscape. The images are a response to cultural landscape, development, environment, sacred sites, political landscape, infrastructure, race, and class. The images convey our reverence for this landscape and also convey the dynamics of our people—our warmth, our courage, and our hearts. They convey an indigenous connection to our ancestry in this place and our connection to the ecosystem that we feel and experience all around us.
